1041. Goa Approves Rs 2500 Crore PPP Projects to Transform State Infrastructure
- On 23 September 2025, It was reported that, Goa’s state cabinet approved seven high-value development projects worth ₹2,500 crore across Panaji and Vasco to modernize public infrastructure under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
- The state government, in collaboration with the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), will execute these projects using private sector expertise, advanced construction methods, and modern project management to accelerate development efficiently.
- Projects include redevelopment of government buildings, transport hubs, and civic facilities, incorporating energy-efficient designs, low-carbon materials, and gender-neutral spaces. Construction will start within 10–15 days, generating employment and promoting sustainable, smart-city-aligned urban infrastructure.
1042. "World's Worst Human Rights Records": India's Sharp Dig At Pakistan
- India has reiterated that matters pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are "purely internal" and Pakistan cannot comment on its domestic matters. The strong remarks came a day after Pakistan's caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar raised the Kashmir bogey at the 78th session of the United Nations.
- "Pakistan has become a habitual offender when it comes to misusing this August forum to peddle baseless and malicious propaganda against India," Petal Gahlot, First Secretary for second committee of General Assembly, said on 23 Sep 2023. It does so to deflect the world's attention away from its own "abysmal record" on human rights.
- India tore into Pakistan for having the "world's worst human rights records", especially those of the minority and women. "Pakistan would do well to put its own house in order before venturing to point a finger at the world's largest democracy," Ms Gahlot said.
- She sought to remind Pakistan its "glaring example of systemic violence against minorities" - the incident in August in which several churches and Christian houses were burnt down in Faisalabad district.

1043. Cochin Shipyard inks pact with HD KSOE to build large vessels in India
- On 20 September 2025, in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering to collaborate on the construction of large vessels during the event 'Samudra se Samriddhi,' the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways said in a statement on, September 23, 2025.
- CSL and HD KSOE will jointly build vessels, using CSL’s 310-metre dry dock and existing facilities, while exploring greenfield shipyards, new business areas, and skill development to strengthen India’s shipbuilding capabilities.
- CSL plans an 80-acre Block Fabrication Facility in Kochi (₹3,700 crore) and a ₹15,000 crore greenfield shipyard in Tamil Nadu, generating 12,000+ jobs, constructing Suezmax tankers, container ships, and Capesize bulk carriers, aligned with Maritime India Vision 2030.
1044. India slams Pakistan for ‘baseless and deceitful narratives’ on Kashmir at UN General Assembly
- India has slammed Pakistan for its “baseless and deceitful narratives” as Islamabad’s envoy here made references to Kashmir in the UN General Assembly. “Earlier in the day, one delegation misused this forum to spread baseless and deceitful narratives, which is not a surprise,” Minister in India’s Permanent Mission to the UN Pratik Mathur said.
- Mathur was delivering India’s statement at the UN General Assembly debate on the Annual Report of the UN Security Council. His retort came after Pakistan’s UN envoy Munir Akram made references to Kashmir in his remarks from the General Assembly podium during the debate.
- Pakistan regularly raises the issue of Jammu and Kashmir at various UN platforms, irrespective of the subject matter being discussed or the theme of the forum and fails to get any support or traction.
- India has previously rejected Pakistan’s attempts to raise the Kashmir issue at international forums, asserting that the “Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the Union Territory of Ladakh have been, are and will always remain integral and inalienable parts of India.”

1045. India Slams Pakistan as “Military-Run” at UNGA, Rejects Article 370 Reversal Claims
- India on 28 September 2024 hit back at Pakistan Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif over his United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) address where he accused New Delhi of "escalating tensions" in Kashmir.
- Bhavika Mangalanandan, first secretary at India’s permanent mission to the UN, accused Pakistan of using cross-border terrorism as a key strategy against India, citing numerous incidents, including the attack on the Indian Parliament in 2001 and the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
- India rejected Pakistan PM’s call to reverse the 2019 Article 370 revocation. India criticized Pakistan as “military-run” with a history of terrorism and transnational crime and accused it of using terrorism to target Jammu and Kashmir, an integral part of India.

1046. India’s Subrahmanyam Jaishankar criticises Pakistan, China at UN, cites ‘karma’
- In an address at the United Nations General Assembly, New Delhi’s top diplomat on Saturday took the opportunity to criticise Pakistan and China for undermining the territorial integrity of their neighbours and made an urgent call for a “more representative” UN to solve the world’s myriad problems.
- CPEC was launched in 2015 as part of China’s signature Belt and Road Initiative, aimed at bolstering regional connectivity through significant infrastructure development. India maintains that the project violates its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
- Jaishankar attributed Pakistan’s dismal economic situation to its “conscious choices” and neighbourhood “misdeeds”. He said Pakistan’s crises are the result of its own “misdeeds” and warned of inevitable consequences, calling it “karma,” while stressing that projects ignoring territorial integrity are unacceptable.

1047. India calls out Pakistan at UN: ‘Mischievous provocation, political propaganda’
- India slammed Pakistan for “mischievous provocation” and “political propaganda” after Islamabad raised the Kashmir issue during a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting.
- “It is despicable yet entirely predictable that one delegation has chosen to indulge in mischievous provocation based on their tried and tested tactic of spreading misinformation and disinformation,” PTI quoted India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador P Harish in the UNSC.
- In a Right of Reply to Pakistan during the UNSC Open Debate on ' Women Building Peace in a Changing Environment’, the Indian diplomat said,“It's completely misplaced to indulge in such political propaganda at this important annual debate.”
- “An estimated thousand women of these minority communities, as per data of Pakistan’s Human Rights Commission, are subject to “abduction, forced religious conversions and forced marriages every year. Anyway, I could go on, but I'll end here,” he added.

1048. Despicable yet predictable: India slams Pak at UN for raking Kashmir issue
- India slammed Pakistan for raising the Kashmir issue at a United Nations Security Council debate calling it a "mischievous provocation" based on their "tested tactic of spreading misinformation."
- Exercising its right to reply during the UN Security Council Debate on Women building peace in a changing environment, India called out Islamabad over the "deplorable" condition of women from minority communities in Pakistan.
- Addressing the UN Security Council debate, India's Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Parvathaneni Harish, said, "It is despicable, yet entirely predictable, that one delegation has chosen to indulge in mischievous provocation based on their pride and tested tactic of spreading misinformation and disinformation.
- It's completely misplaced to indulge in such political propaganda at this important annual debate. We are well aware that the condition of women belonging to minority communities, notably Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians in that country remains deplorable," he added.

1049. Divisive Political Agenda: India Slams Pakistan at UN Over Kashmir Claims
- At a UN session, India’s representative Rajeev Shukla rejected Pakistan’s accusations over Jammu and Kashmir, calling them misinformation aimed at misleading the international community.
- Delivering India's riposte to Pakistan at the UN session on Tuesday, Shukla, without naming the neighbour, said "a delegation", which is "habitual of resorting to disinformation and misinformation", used the august UN forum to peddle lies, adding that it measures the world's largest democracy by its own yardstick of spreading falsehoods.
- India cited high voter turnout in recent J&K elections as proof of democratic functioning and assured continued cooperation with the UN to counter disinformation. India reaffirmed that Pakistan’s claims lacked credibility and urged it to engage constructively instead of pursuing a divisive agenda.

1050. At UN, India slams Pakistan for spreading ‘falsehoods’ after debate on J&K
- In a strong retort, India slammed Pakistan for peddling “falsehood” after it referred to Jammu and Kashmir during a debate on peacekeeping operations in the UN.
- “India chooses its right to reply in response to the comments made by Pakistan that has yet again made an attempt to divert this august body from its agenda,” Member of the Rajya Sabha and National Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said.
- His remarks came during a debate on peacekeeping operations at the Special Political and Decolonization (Fourth Committee) of the UN General Assembly here Friday. Trivedi asserted that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir “was, is and will remain an integral part of India.
- Trivedi delivered India’s strong response after the Pakistani delegate spoke about the (UNMOGIP), mandated to supervise the ceasefire along the Line of Control. India maintains that UNMOGIP has outlived its utility and is irrelevant after the Simla Agreement and the consequent establishment of the Line of Control.
